Through thread, yarn, and textiles, we create, convey, and portray the fiber of our lives.
Welcome to this website dedicated to
my lifelong fiber journey and fiber arts education, and now where my paintings are catalogued!
I hope that you find something inspiring and meaningful to use as you build your own artistic and woven journey.
I started building this website during 2022 while I was teaching a university fiber arts course and beginning to enter some exhibitions. While I am launching this website in January of 2024, the site is in no way complete. So MUCH to come! The site currently or soon will feature my own fiber art and research, other important research in the field, global fiber art resources, workshop information, travel opportunities, educational resources, professional organizations, and will showcase featured artists. It is my hope that this website will become a library of global fiber art resources. And, I'll soon share an exciting collaboration that is In development.
So, keep seeking to find ways to go through the eye of the needle and weaving life together in creative and inventive ways, telling story as you go!
I'm available to lead workshops on a variety of media - fiber skills, and anxiety/trauma/resilience related to the action of making fiber art; water color, acrylic, or oil painting; multi-media work; and the history of embroidery. I am also available to juror exhibitions and to keynote or lecture.

"Creativity is something that comes from deep within us. It connects our senses – it connects our hands to what we see, to the scents around us and the sounds we hear, and to what we taste. Creativity is a full sensory experience."
"The benefits of working with fibers are felt deep within our core – our bodies are calmed, our minds grow, our souls are lifted, and our hearts sing. Fiber art is a good medicine for the mind, body, and soul."
"Learning should happen during every day of our lives – no matter our age or our circumstances. That Is how we grow as human beings. When we add needles, threads, and yarns to that learning, we reach and teach ourselves in spirited, soulful, creative, and even practical ways."
"One must leave their own shores to experience all that the world has to offer. The Earth's fibers and the hands that use and are inspired by them are a talent beyond full comprehension . . . until a person experiences them."

"Some of my best days are those spent with my hands joined with the hands of others, while using needles, threads, yarns, cloth, and dyes. The collaboration that occurs in a room full of artists transcends the actual artistry."

"As a child and young person, I competed in many ways – in sewing competitions, in wool competitions, and in art, as well as showing horses. The quest to compete was ever present and winning was a focused goal. Now, I enjoy creative expression and sharing my journey with others through exhibitionse that I enter."
"As a 30 year educator in K-12 art and as a university professor for 10 years, and as a workshop leader, national leader in art education, and as an international art influencer and educator, I have seen with my own eyes – thousands of times – how art can and does change lives. When artists make and develop important curricular resources for educators, we more fully enrich the experiences of students with new and unique perspective, and new skills."
"I first picked up a needle and thread when I was five years old and that fibers journey has continued for six decades."
In the tapestry of life, we're all connected.
Each one of us is a gift to those around us
helping each other be who we are,
weaving a perfect picture together.
