In 2019, Dr. Harlow led a group of American art teachers, university professors, and art enthusiasts to Eyeries, Ireland for a one week workshop on needlefelting. We toured a sheep farm, participated in a lace making workshop by the Kenmare Lace & Design Centre, and toured a ceramics studio with the oldest existing kiln in Ireland. A guest artist traveled with us and spoke to us about his fiber art - Adire Cloth, Gasali Adeyemo from Nigeria and Santa Fe, NM. We also rode the cable car, suspended high above the Dursey Sound, to Dursey Island for a water color workshop.
We stayed at a delightful Inn!
Needlefelting workshop was held at our B&B.
Attendees participate in one of four felting projects.
Art studio and art education professor from Wichita State University.
My daughter, Chloe, helped lead the trip.
Orna Collins, Irish literary award winner, spoke to the group about the Travelers of Ireland. Orna is an accomplished writer. She also signed some of her books, all written in the Irish language, and gave them to me.....kindly explaining what each one was about. She started out writing books for adolescents and then moved into adult fiction, which ties the past to the present. Her current book is about the travelers. Her books are written In Gaelic, Ireland's oldest language.

Our stay at Formanes Bed & Breakfast was phenomenal! Our hosts were historians, wonderful hosts, cooks, and even drove some of us to various places in their car. And, when we went to Dursey Island, we centered our activities out of her families ancestoral home.
